“Being a mother is the best opportunity and challenge I’ve ever been blessed with in life,” Simpson told Us Weekly in May 2018. “Right now, my kids are in this amazing stage where I’m really listening to them without judgment and they’re teaching me so much.These little innocent kids teach me so much about life.”
The fashion designer and the former NFL player, who wed in 2014, share daughters, Maxwell and Birdie, and son, Ace.
“Eric is more the disciplinarian,” Simpson explained to Us. “If [Maxwell] asks for a dog, she gets one, and then Eric finds a way to make the dog not end up in the house.”
“She has a great voice,” she added of her eldest daughter when asked if she’ll also be a singer. “She’s pretty shy. Mom’s shy too, so you never know. You never know if you’re a born entertainer or not.”
Parenthood has been “a totally different experience” for Simpson and Johnson since Birdie’s birth, a source exclusively told Us in March 2019. The insider went on to call the athlete a “super dad.”
