Netflix on Saturday showed off the trailer for They Cloned Tyrone, film that teams John Boyega, Jamie Foxx and Teyonah Parris in a sci-fi mystery pic directed by Creed 2 writer Juel Taylor. No release date has been set yet.
Taylor penned the screenplay with Tony Rettenmaier and is making his feature directorial debut.

The trailer, which the streamer showed off during its Tudum global fan event, finds Boyega, Foxx and Parris as an unlikely trio who after a series off eerie events find themselves on the trail of a nefarious government conspiracy. “If we’re gonna buy into the insanity,” Foxx’s Slick Charles says during the trailer, “let a pimp freshen up.”
The trailer vibes a stylized modern yet 1970s feel, with Foxx’s pompadour and Parris’ killer thigh-high boots juxtaposed with the metals and grays of laboratories and tech.
Macro founder and CEO Charles D. King, Stephen “Dr.” Love, Taylor, Rettenmaier and Kim Roth are producing along with Foxx and Datari Turner. Macro’s Mark R. Wright and Jack Murray are executive producers.
